Applications for FY 2014-15 CDBG Public Services Funding

PUBLIC NOTICE FY 2014/2015 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PUBLIC SERVICE APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE The City of Independence is accepting applications for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for Public Service projects from qualified agencies for the 2014/2015 Program Year. The deadline for applications is January 6, 2014. Approximately $100,000 will be made available, dependent on Federal funding determinations. Information regarding the CDBG program, timetable for application submission and review, and the funding allocation process is available on the City website: http://www.ci.independence.mo.us/comdev/CDBG.aspx. To be eligible, projects must meet at least one of the following Consolidated Plan priorities. • Senior/disabled services including meal programs, health care programs and transportation services • Subsistence level services for the needs of very low and low income families including rent and utility assistance • Support of homeless shelters including transitional housing. • Special interests focus on non-homeless special needs populations, domestic violence, and youth services. • Crime Prevention Service Programs Electronic copies may be requested by calling 325-7398 between the hours of 8am – 5pm, Monday through Friday, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
