Video Surveillance and Exterior Lighting Requirements. Worked with the Independence Police Department to craft and pass an ordinance to require Independence businesses to have and maintain video surveillance and exterior lighting. I believe that this measure will be a strong crime deterrent and will assist the Independence Police Department in solving crimes.

Security Enhancements for the Independence Bus Terminal. Worked with City Officials to install video cameras at the Independence Bus Terminal. This will make the Bus Terminal area safer and more convenient for our citizens.

Cracking down on businesses that operate within the City without a Business License. We have had some businesses conduct business in Independence without a Business License. Every business should play by the rules.

Working with City Officials we have passed and updated City Ordinances to give the City of Independence more tools to make sure a business is a legitimate business and to close those who are not.
